Meet Our Retail Manager: Wendy Pucillo
Wendy Pucillo expertly curates and styles the retail space of Élan Flowers, breathing life into our beautiful Tribeca boutique at 1 Worth Street.
Born in Northern California, Wendy spent her childhood going to antique stores and tag sales with her mom and great grandmother. It is what naturally led her to the world of luxury housewares; particularly all things that revolve around the kitchen, cooking and entertaining; “I’m a dishes and glassware freak!” In her early 20s she worked in and became a buyer for a fine housewares store called Zucchini & Vine, owned by her mentor, Nancy Lindahl. Z&V specialized in everything high-end for one’s kitchen and home from fine china, beautiful flatware, gorgeous linens and sparkling stemware to French copper cookware, high tech German cutlery and many unique imports and accessories for entertaining. The store also sold fancy food items, freshly roasted coffee beans, an elaborate selection of imported cheeses and fine chocolates. One could buy a daily baguette, a pasta machine or even a raclette toaster and a lovely bottle of port. The business specialized in its robust window displays and its tablescapes, which were fashioned to each bride & groom’s registry for their wedding guests to shop from.
In 1995, Wendy moved to NYC to experience exciting opportunities on the East coast. She first worked for Bergdorf Goodman on the 7th floor in the “Home” boutiques, and after at the Calvin Klein flagship store as it was launching its premiere Home Collection for the brand where she created a bridal registry program for the company. She then took a 16 year leave from the workforce for the most important job in life – to raise a family with her husband Jeff Pucillo who now works in marketing and television production. Jeff and their two daughters are all talented musicians and enjoy spending lots of time together.
Working for The White Company’s home collection was Wendy’s first job when she returned to the workforce in 2017 where she continued to develop her masterful eye for catering to high-end clientele and working with luxury brands. During COVID-19, The White Company closed and Wendy was referred to Élan Flowers, where she has worked ever since.
At Élan Flowers Wendy has shaped the retail space to be elegant and chic, maintaining its charm through the years she’s been with the company. In describing her role she states, “As the retail manager and buyer for Élan Flowers and I style the shop along with the owner. We love finding vintage curiosities to sell along with our everyday items. We’re slowly building our inventory to offer special items to set a table along with our gorgeous floral creations,” As a lifelong gardener, Wendy loves being around flowers and design. One of her favorite aspects beyond customer service is being a part of the buying process in procuring lovely little trinkets. In her words she is on the “Make it Pretty Committee!” She continues to impress with her work and is always a positive and joyful leader at Élan.
